Activity:
· Read the book Big Rain Coming by Katrina Germein
· Use this book to explore indigenous ideas about the weather
· Look at the local aboriginal symbols that represent weather
· Do the activity Investigating the wind: release confetti to demonstrate how releasing it demonstrates the strength and direction of the wind. Then provide natural materials so the students can investigate what materials are most effective.
· Explain beforehand to the students that the direction and strength of the wind can affect the use of some hunting implements.
