Activity:
· Students bring a toy to school which can move or has moving parts.
· The students demonstrate how the toys move.
· Their thinking is recorded as a see, think, wonder.
· Students then discuss what makes toy move, the draw pictures and label them.
· Students use toys that can be wound up to move in a straight line in a race. They make predictions about which one will win and why. The suggest reasons why one is faster than the other.
· At the end the students can write a story about the race and illustrate it.
